The inUpowers was founded by Tami Hymas, former cosmetologist turned CEO, in 2020 in the midst of balancing the struggles of owning a full salon during a worldwide pandemic. As a cosmetologist, Tami was able to interact with a diverse group of people who all fell under the same theme of believing “I’m not enough.” Because of this common thread, the inUpowers were born to teach people that they are enough because they exist. The characters and the principles were developed with teachers, counselors, therapists, and parents. They create a safe emotional environment where people can understand their feelings and have the power to control their behavior and change their thoughts. No matter someone’s circumstance or where they are from, everyone experiences emotion. Our emotions connect us to ourselves and to others. Our desire is that as people learn about the characters, they will discover the beautiful and unique things that make them special. As people learn and gain those insights about their self-worth, we encourage everyone to join our fight to help others understand how much they matter, because we are better together.
